NEWS: D8chat – New and Improved

It was love at first D8chat….

Back in August of 2010 we launched the Beta test version of D8chat, our very own instant chat service. In case you’re wondering ‘What does beta testing mean?’ well, let us explain. In essence a Beta test is a live test of a product and it allows us to see how a particular feature works in a “real” environment. We wanted to learn from our users about their chat habits, what they would like from a chat facility, and ultimately if it is a worthwhile addition to the website.

After months of monitoring, testing and speaking with our members were we’re pleased to announce the launch of D8chat v 1.0

Here’s a quick reminder of how to get started & our new features:

1. How do you see who’s online? Well, once you are logged in simply click the D8chat logo in the top right of the site. Don’t forget, if you want to chat online make sure you set your status to “Visible.”

2.  You can initiate a chat with anyone who is online. We recommend viewing their profile first just to make sure that their criteria matches yours. This is very important and will give you a better chance of having a successful d8chat.

3. Once you’ve sent a chat request you will be prompted with the following message (see below). This is a new feature on D8chat and allows the user to accept or decline your request.

4. If you’ve been sent a chat request then you’ll be presented with the following message (see below) which is also a new feature on the site. You can accept/ decline and even block the user from here.

5. By accepting the chat request a small window will appear in the bottom right hand corner.

Type your message in the text box and simply hit the return key on your keyboard to send. How easy is that?! Don’t forget to update your status in the ‘Options’ section to the right hand of the toolbar, this is also where you can control your sound alerts.  Oh, and don’t forget we’ve also ironed out some of the bugs that have been reported over the past few months.

We want to hear your feedback on the improvements we’ve made to our service so please feel free to get in touch with your ideas. Feel free to send your thoughts and suggestions by filling out our contact form, or by mailing to us at info@asiand8online.com. We hope you are as excited as us about the new and improved chat facility.
